Sound Choices For the Organist Workshop

Music lovers are invited to attend a free workshop by renowned organist Dan Miller. Dan will offer tips and practical suggestions for organists to expand their opportunities for creative selection of organ stops and managing console functions. Dan will also offer useful organ music repertoire ideas, always of interest to any organist.

• Explore creative organ stop and ensemble selections for any worship style
• Discover useful repertoire including free internet downloads
• Learn solutions for record/playback
• Free music by Dan Miller will be given to each attendee.

About Our Guest Presenter

Dan Miller has been featured in concerts and events for over 30 years. A church organist since age 15, Dan has served at Calvary Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he presided over the world’s 13th largest pipe organ, and at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Currently, Dan is organist for two churches in Beaverton, Oregon. About our Guest Presenter

His appearances include the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California; St. John the Divine in New York City; the Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia; the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City; and Methuen Memorial Music Hall in Methuen, Massachusetts. He has been a featured artist at international and national conferences including American Guild of Organists regional and national conventions. Dan has recorded more than a dozen organ compact discs. He has performed on radio and television programs, including Minnesota Public Radio’s “Pipedreams.” He is a former dean of the Fort Lauderdale AGO chapter.

Dan holds a Church Music Diploma from Moody Bible Institute. He majored in organ performance at the American Conservatory of Music, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida Atlantic University, and a Master of Music degree in Organ Performance from Winthrop University. He holds the position of Product Manager at Rodgers Instruments Corporation in Hillsboro, Oregon. He resides in Hillsboro, Oregon with his wife. They have two daughters.
